!>>My
Predicament<<!
Hello, I'm
a person who is afflicted with a psychological impairment called a
Schizo-Affective Disorder that I control by using a couple different
kinds of medications. I was diagnosed with this impairment in 1989
when I was discharged from the Army with a mental disability and I
have been receiving Social Security Disability (SSDI) since 1990. I
reside in Auburn, Northern California,
95603.
I've had
many ideas to better my life through education but it was back when
I was in high school that I came up with an idea around the time
Chernobyl in Russia exploded killing the many people nearby,
everyone in the world should get together and try to make a space
program that could put a Nuclear Reactor on the Moon! It would work
perfectly, the MOON always shielding it's far side from us so
if there was an explosion or melt down it would never reach earth.
The United States and Russia should get together and build our
energy source of the future and employ the countries of the world so
there could be PEACE and employment for everyone, are we taught this
in school? Every person on Earth could IMAGINE these plans if
they just "think" somewhat, nothing is stopping anyone from having
this information! Being the model Americans we are we should have
helped the Russians on their plans to build their reactors safer but
we didn't want to get involved or spend the time or the
money.
Yes our lives
have improved a lot since 20 years ago in the 80's but we can still
do more to get out of our tunel vision and into a system that works.
You probably think; "Robert is Crazy," I admit I thought I was too,
but even now I continue to believe this world was created to suit
within a bigger picture.
I still
think it may take a Genius to put all these ideas together to make
plenty of available energy for everyone, don't get me wrong, but the
question is "are we having a power shortage and we're in the middle
of it?" People never tell me that there is a bright Energy future,
and even knowing this information only sometimes do I feel that I'm
an important person.
Although I have been labeled
handicapped I have tried to get myself some schooling and find a
career that could better my life, I'm somewhat able because I am
being treated for my illness, but usually when I try I end up having
my plans become incomplete for one reason or another and the biggest
reasons are; one, mental stability and second the ability to be able
to complete my educational goals, I am still not considered a
skilled worker. Sometimes it seems to me like everyone has got
me beat because of so much competition and my disability, I wish I
had the "FREEDOM" to do the kind of work I want without people
complaining about their money and their profit margins. As for
my being on Social Security Disability (SSDI) I strongly feel that I
need and deserve the ability to save more money because paying the
bills here in California is tough, even a small apartment here
cannot easily be found for under $850./ month including the
utilities. The other benefit I receive is also a Disability
Compensation of $728./ month from the Military, hospital records and
evaluation from my 600 days in enlistment rate me at 50% Disabled.
With the money I receive from (SSDI) $716./ month and my military
Disability Compensation I have a budget of $1444./ month but I am
only allowed to earn a small amount of extra money every month
because of the SSDI rules even if I had a
job.
I went to
College in 1985-86 and did some other technical classes between then
and now and usually even if your a person with a disability you can
still function in the community if you take your meds and have a
routine, there are countless stories of people who did and I want to
be one of those people. There are billions of people in the
world (1000's of millions) who can afford $3.45 for my NOVEL that's on this website and if I make
enough money I may possibly be able to get off SSDI and who knows I
may even be able to make a million dollars or more! You
definitely couldn't make that kind of money mowing your neighbor's
Lawns and the price is cheaper than the cost of some Greeting
Cards. Even now you can look me up in every Public Library at
this URL (my website) on their Internet and my entire book can be
downloaded easily to anywhere on a computer because of its small
size. Any taxable amount of money I receive from donations
although probably only some fraction compared to the preceding
statistics will be reported to SSDI and prepared quarterly for the
IRS, and of course I hope to do as well as I
can!
Because of
the problems we have with our Social Security system you might think
if some industrious Tax Payers knew how to do it they could create a
specially dedicated Search Engine and Directory to easily direct
visitors from the Internet to sites made by people who have had or
are presently receiving benefits like mine so we could get targeted
help as handicapped people to sell our books, music and prints, etc.
and make enough money to not use our SSDI in the first place.
This Directory and Search Engine, I imagine, if promoted and
advertised properly would give a well needed edge to the
handicapped: If, "this system," explained why you should choose to
spend money on handicapped people first and before your regular
Internet shopping and had all their sites listed there orderly
it might help give the business we need to get out of the endless
economic "tail-spin" of a fixed income and the government also would
get a workable solution for our "Disability Gap." As a
handicapped person I don't know right now how to make an ad campaign
where it would have the most impact in my case, believe me I've
thought about this a lot, and production companies that do planned
advertising for projects like mine "individually" are very
expensive; but with this kind of goal in mind making this Directory
and Search Engine a cooperative backing for disabled people as
a group would be easy to do and
also inexpensive.
I talked
to a few people about all my ideas and I believe that it
would be best for me to work on my second novel that I started a few
years ago, carefully refine the process of selling my books, and
devise a plan to use my resources on house payments instead of
paying rent in the future so I can get a nice place to live. I
hate to say it but Disability in California really doesn't do the
trick with our present economy and it would take about 25 years to
pay back a home loan for $130,000.00 by myself with my Disability
Compensation, that loan amount is pretty small here and doesn't
even leave enough to own a car. Presently I cannot afford a
vehicle, but I do have a Driver's License.
