Description

A rare original antique 17th century Charles I period handwritten last will and testament on vellum for Agnes Dowthart of Ironmonger Lane in the City of London. Written in english in a neat secretarial hand, complete with seal tags, but lacking seals. A later handwritten transcription is included. It is a fine example of an early will, Ironmonger Lane is immediately to the west of the Bank of England in the heart of London's financial district. The will includes philanthropic gifts to the poor and bequests from a large monetary estate. Stock Code: 2780.
