Description

A Beautiful Large Antique Art Nouveau Period Copper Serving Tray. Embossed Decoration of Poppy Seed Heads and Foliage and a Large Vacant Cartouche to the Centre. Clearly Stamped 'KSIA' for Keswick School of Industrial Arts. The School was Founded in 1884 by Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley as an Evening Class in Woodwork and Metalwork in Keswick, Cumbria. The Idea Was to Help Illeviate Unemployment. It Was so Successful, That Within Ten Years, Over 100 Men Were Attending Classes. This Tray is One Such Item Made by One of These Men. Canon Rawnsley Went on to Become One of the Founders of the National Trust. Stock Code: 2282.
